Summer hits its peak in Lakeville this month, and it is hard to beat a small Minnesota town in July. Nearly all of the action centers on Pan-O-Prog — the city’s 60th annual community festival running July 4–12, 2026 — surrounded by the weekly staples that make our downtown and lakes worth visiting all season long.

Lakeville Farmers Market
Local produce, meats, baked goods, cut flowers, and handmade crafts from area growers and artisans, right in the heart of downtown. (Heads up: the market location may shift during Pan-O-Prog week when Holyoke Avenue closes for the festival.)

Nine days. More than 80 community-run events. Panorama of Progress (“Pan-O-Prog” to the locals) fills downtown Lakeville and its parks with fireworks, parades, a classic-car cruise, a carnival, live music, markets, and small-town fun for every age. Most of the events below are part of it — here is the day-by-day rundown.

★Saturday, July 4★
4th of July Fireworks & Family Fun
Kick off the holiday with the City’s big fireworks show. Century Middle School hosts family activities from 6–9 PM — food trucks, a petting zoo, a photo bus, face painters and balloon twisters — then the sky lights up at dusk. Grand Prairie Park (food trucks from 11 AM) and Highview Elementary are great viewing spots too.

The Pan-O-Prog cribbage bracket pegs off with preliminary rounds at Rudy’s Redeye Grill. Bring your board sense and your appetite — multiple rounds run through the festival. RSVP online to reserve a seat.

Lions Fly-In Breakfast
A Lakeville tradition: a hearty breakfast on the tarmac with aircraft displays, plus airplane and helicopter rides. Fun for aviation buffs and families alike. Reservations appreciated.

New for 2026 — a day of inflatables, slides and hay-wagon rides out at the orchard. All ages welcome for some classic country fun in the fresh air.

Pan-O-Prog Medallion Hunt
The classic treasure hunt is on. New clues drop daily starting at 9 AM — decode them, search around town, and the finder takes home $250 cash.

A full slate of free outdoor fitness sessions at Casperson Park, including CorePower Yoga, Moms on the Run cardio and strength, a Lakeville Cycling Association mountain-bike ride, and a Somatic Breathwork RESET. Drop in and move.

New this year — grab a teammate for bracketed doubles bocce on the lawn at Spyglass Park. Trophies on the line and good-natured rivalry guaranteed.

Tribute Night Band — Live at the Lake
Pan-O-Prog teams up with the City’s Live at the Lake series for a tribute-band concert at the Casperson Park stage. Bring a chair, grab a bite from the food trucks, and enjoy the show by the lake.

Spread out a picnic on the Arts Center lawn for a charming puppet show — a sweet midweek outing for the little ones.

Pan-O-Prog Pet Expo
Bring your four-legged friend to the Pet Expo at Steve Michaud Park — vendors, demos and pet-friendly fun for the whole family.

The midway lights up for four days of rides, games and carnival eats. Grab a 4-day unlimited ride passport and make some memories. Opens Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Lakeville Fire Department Waffle Breakfast
Start the day with Belgian waffles, breakfast sausage, coffee and juice served up by your Lakeville firefighters. Kids 5 and under eat free. Questions: 952-985-4700.

Hundreds of classic cars (30 years and older) line up at Lakeville South High School and cruise historic Holyoke Avenue. It is also a food drive — Scouts collect donations along the route — and six blocks downtown stay open afterward for a post-cruise vehicle display.

Two stages of live music inside and out, a two-story inflatable slide, yard games, an eating contest, plus food and drink at B-52 Burgers & Brew. A downtown block-party staple of the festival.

The downtown street market levels up — now three days at the covered Allina Health Pavilion rink. Artists and makers from several states bring jewelry, stained glass, wood-turned goods, soaps, gift baskets and more.

Pan-O-Prog Classic Car Show
All makes, all models fill historic downtown for the Saturday car show. Cast your vote — participants’ choice awards go to the top 16, including Best of Show, Mayor’s, Queen’s and Police Chief picks. Voting closes at 2:30 PM.

Young players compete in the co-ed junior open on the courts at Lakeville North High School. Come watch the next generation of Lakeville talent.

Regarded as one of Minnesota’s very best, the Grand Parade rolls roughly 110 units — marching bands, floats, classic cars and community groups — along a one-mile downtown route for an estimated 20,000 spectators. Stake out your curb early.

Chalk Art Exhibition
Watch chalk artists transform downtown sidewalks into vivid street art on the festival’s final day, with live music, food trucks and the last hurrah of the carnival nearby.
